The story I'm going to tell you happened on February 2007 and probably some of you have already heard about it. The Infinity Tower (that you can see in the two picture above, is one of the many huge skyscrapers and futuristic architectural projects that are currently under construction in Dubai. This tower in particular, when finished, will be 330m high (the tallest helix-shaped building ever) with 80 floors and will stand in the marina district. This closeness to the sea (just a few meters is the main reason of the accident you can see perfectly described in the pictures below.
A crack opened in the diaphragm wall adjacent the marina and the water started sneaking in, growing rapidly as the crack enlarged. All the workers managed to escape and after 4 minutes the groundwork was totally flooded. This accident had caused one year delay in the construction
